Mary Mackillop

We have just celebrated saint john vianeys feast day.Now we are learning about Mary mackillop's feast day.Mary Mackillop is born in Melbourne in 1842.Mary cared deeply about others and always tryed to help others when ever she could.mary went to work as a teacher in a town called Penola.There she met father woods.Together they began the first St Joesph's school in a stable.The school was for children who could not afford to pay for school.Two of Marys sisters helped in the school.In 1866 Mary dedicated her life to god and began the congregation of the sisters of St joseph.The sisters started more schools around Australia.All children were welcome even if they couldn't pay.In 1909 Mary died in sydney.She had spent her life helping those who needed it.The sisters continued on with her good work.On October 17 ,Mary Mackillop will become australia's first saint.The pope in rome will hold a special ceremony and Mary will be recognised for wonderful work she did.In her life helping people especially children.By max and lachlan.
